Freelance Fundraising Copywriters Wanted at Blakely!

Blakely is looking to expand our freelance writing roster.

If you are well-versed in fundraising fundamentals and feel inspired by making a difference  across healthcare, social services, international development, and nature conservancy organizations, we want to hear from you. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more key areas: Fundraising Direct Response Marketing (digital and Direct mail) or Case for Support copywriting.

Experience Required: We seek candidates with at least 3+ years of professional experience in fundraising copywriting, with a focus on the Canadian and United States markets. Your background should demonstrate a robust understanding of fundraising copywriting strategies and best practices.

Specific Skill Set: Applicants should possess strong knowledge of either Fundraising Direct Response Marketing or Case for Support copywriting(or both). We value specific expertise in digital platforms, including email, landing pages, social media, web content, traditional direct mail, and print. Proven experience in crafting compelling narratives that articulate the needs and goals of fundraising campaigns and engaging potential donors with clarity, impact and creativity.

Communication Skills: Exceptional grammar, proofing, and editing skills are essential. We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate a proven ability to translate campaign strategies into creative, engaging messaging that resonates with diverse audiences. It’s crucial that candidates can adapt their tone and voice to fit a variety of platforms and contexts effectively.

Research and Interviewing: Strong research skills are crucial. Candidates should have experience conducting in-depth interviews and utilizing diverse research methods to gather accurate information that enhances and informs their writing.
